After several years of discussion and consideration of an additional public beach at Noblewood, it has finally come to fruition.
Through diligent work with the Adirondack Chapter of the Nature Conservancy the Town has created a secondary beach for visiting patron's to use during the Day Camp season. There has been an on-going issue with the day-time closure of the existing beach during the Day Camp sessions as the lack of beach access deters patrons from using the park in general. The Park Staff, headed by Justin Drinkwine, will now maintain and lifeguard that beach. Recently cleared and cleaned by the Town's Department of Public Works, the beach will be ready for use for the 2015 summer - perfect for the exciting 250th Founder's Day events set to take place around town. This new beach, with walking access to the Boquet River Corridor, Gateway Trail, & Historic Battle of the Boquet sites, is bound to be a vital attraction for community visitors and residents. -A.
