The Town of Willsboro is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Community and Economic Development. This professional leadership role is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing community development initiatives, economic development strategies, grant administration, capital projects, and long-range planning efforts on behalf of the Town.
The Director works under the general direction of the Town Supervisor and Town Board and serves as a key advisor on community growth, infrastructure investment, grant funding opportunities, and strategic planning initiatives. This position plays an important role in advancing projects that enhance municipal services, improve quality of life, and strengthen the Town's long-term future.
Key responsibilities may include:
Identifying, preparing, and administering federal, state, county, and private grant opportunities
Coordinating community and economic development projects and strategic planning initiatives
Managing capital improvement projects from planning through implementation
Assisting with Comprehensive Plans, Local Waterfront Revitalization Programs, and other long-range planning efforts
Preparing reports, grant applications, presentations, and recommendations for the Town Board
Building partnerships with government agencies, businesses, developers, and community stakeholders
Coordinating public outreach and stakeholder engagement efforts
Supporting budgeting and funding strategies for development initiatives and capital projects
Applicants should have knowledge of municipal administration, community and economic development, grant writing and administration, strategic planning, and project management. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential.
